The Roundabout Rotary Buffalo Niagara, a District 7090 Service Club was founded in 2015 to bring a new model to Rotary.

This model is at the heart founded on Rotary’s slogan:

“Service Above Self”

The new Club will hold one “Meeting/Social” per month (a happy hour, dinner, lunch or even breakfast as the Members chose) and will participate in Service Projects and Drives selected by the Club and also assisting in the existing projects of other Clubs in the Buffalo Niagara Region.

A “Brand New Club” with a legacy of Service.  While the Roundabout Rotary Buffalo Niagara Club officially began on July 1, 2015 this Club can trace it’s Rotary tradition for over 65 years!

The Roundabout Rotary Club of Buffalo-Niagara is an evolution of the former Rotary Club of Cheektowaga repurposing its original charter dated 1948 for a new mission.  The mission of the new Club is to serve the greater Buffalo Niagara (Western New York) region with a Club that gets back to the roots of Rotary while moving a new direction for a new generation.

2016-2017 Club Leadership

The founding Board of the Roundabout Rotary Buffalo Niagara Club also represent a strong tradition of Rotarians.

Club President (interim) and Secretary Michael Tyrpak was the Interim President Elect of the Roundabout Club during our formation year and Club President of the Rotary Club of Amherst (East) in 2013-2014 having served as the Program Coordinator for that Club from 2010 on.  Michael Tyrpak is still heavily involved in the Website and Facebook for the Rotary Club of Amherst (and Facebook for Area 11 and the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls).  Mike comes from a Rotary Family, his father Jim being the President of the Rotary Club of Buffalo the same year.

Club Past President Dr. Kate Fowler (Biggie) was the Club President of the Roundabout Club 2015-2016 and the Rotary Club of Amherst for 2014-2015 and was instrumental in that Club’s highly successful District 7090 Grants projects for various international service projects including ones she has been directly on the ground involved in in Tanzania with the University at Buffalo.  Dr. Fowler has also been asked to serve as Area Governor Elect for Area 11 beginning her term as AG in 2017.

Club Treasurer Jayce Wallace has been with the Roundabout Club since it’s formation in 2015 and like many of our original “Charter Members” he was with us for the months leading up to July 2015 as well.  He has served as the Program Coordinator of the Club for 2016 as well.
